Hearing Clinic Services
A
child can be referred to a hearing clinic for suspected ear
pathology, hearing problem, speech/language delay, or a child who
fails a hearing screening. Hearing clinics are staffed by public
health nurses, audiologists, speech language pathologists, and
otolarygalogists, who are licensed and/or board certified in their
specialty. Services that are provided at the hearing clinic are
tympanometry, pure tone testing, speech reception thresholds, and
otoacoustic emissions.
These board certified or licensed specialists are available to
examine a child’s ears, provide a hearing test, screen
speech/language functions and discuss whatever problems are found.
They will also recommend plans for treatment and follow-up.
This is a free service.
