Swine Flu
The Swine Flu Situation
As of April 27, 2009, one Ohio resident has tested positive for
Swine flu and there have been no cases reported in Allen County.
While several countries
are now reporting cases, Mexico is hardest hit with more than 1,700
reported cases and more than 100 deaths. This new influenza A (H1N1)
virus has not previously been identified in people and
human-to-human transmission is occurring.
Unlike the experience in Mexico, the United States is seeing less
severe disease. Health officials recommend people continue to take
the same precautions to protect themselves as they would from colds
and seasonal flu.
This is a rapidly
changing situation. The most up to date information can be
